I’m really happy with how my music making is going at the moment. I have lots of great gigs lined up, some wonderful musicians playing with me regularly, and I’m very excited about the new songs I am writing. I can’t wait to share them all with you!
The most exciting thing I have lined up at the moment is the live album I’ll be recording at The John Peel Centre in Stowmarket on Friday the 23rd of October!
I have been blown away by how encouraging and supportive the John Peel Centre have been about the idea. They jumped on board the project enthusiastically and they seem to be looking forward to it as much as me.
I’ve always felt that I’m far ‘stronger’ live than I am in the studio, I think it could be because, for me, music is all about making connections with people and communicating emotions and feelings with them. Although that can definitely be done with a studio album too, I think there’s something really unique about performing in front of a living breathing audience and sharing the moment with them. Also, I have always enjoy listening to live albums more than studio ones. For me there’s something more ‘real’ about an album that captures a totally live performance. It’s as if you are transported to the venue and you get to experience the performance in a similar way to if you were there in the room with the performers.
I’m currently lining up a fantastic group of musicians to play on the album with me. I’ll have more details (including ticket price and information) about the event soon, but for now please save the date as I’d love to have as many of you there in support as possible. The more people I have in the audience the better the atmosphere will be (and I also hope to sell enough tickets to pay all the musicians).
I really believe that it could be the most wonderful and special occasion.
Have I mentioned that I’m super excited about it? Because I’m super excited about it!
Hope you can make it, it wont be the same with out you,
